Bocholt to Sluis Lommel

Sunday 12 April

Topped up with water and by 09h15 we were on our way onto the Bocholt-Heerentals canal.

Bye, bye Bocholt.

The ubiquitous campers.

Preparing the gangplank for varnishing.

What are these things - bunkers?

We decided to spend the night at a jetty just around the corner from Lommel Sluis 1. No facilities and no-one to pay for mooring. The jetty belongs to one of the Lommel clubs but a member told us that he wasn’t sure if we had to pay or not!

Sluis Lommel mooring.
An uneventful day of chilling, sanding and varnishing with a quick ride into the rather nondescript town of Rauw for a beer and then back to Elle for a braai of delicious rib-eye steak, boiled potatoes and salads.

The bread delivery man topping up the bread dispenser.

Duvel in Rauw.
Tough life indeed…

The evening drinkypoos...
