Why no Blog?

For those who remember, my laptop screen gave up the ghost and eventually we bought an old Acer monitor which could connect to the hard drive which only showed heavily pixelated pictures.

Not an ideal situation.
Now in order to keep the Blog up to date the following has to be in place:
- there must be no more pressing tasks (like fixing engines) at hand.
- there must be motivation.
- there must be more than 13.4V in the batteries or the small inverter cannot supply enough power to light up the screen; this only happens when we are on the move but I'm on the helm then.
- alternatively we must have shore power which we do have about 50% of the time.
- in order to upload pictures there must be a good internet connection which is a rarity in France.

Eventually the effort of trying to get everything in place simultaneously was a bit much so the updates are now being done from home in South Africa. Hopefully things will be back to normal next year.

  1. Phew! We were getting worried - how would we plan next year if we were denied the rich description of your experiences. We haven't had the problem of either poor internet or insufficient power. The rest are applicable, with the very significant addition of a surfeit of guests. Can't blog while they are aboard and we had seven sets this season. So we've got 75% of the season to finish now we are at home.

Looking forward to the reprise of this year's adventures on 'Elle'.

    1. Thanks Ian. I've been waiting for your blog to be updated...
We're off on a circular trip around SA in ten days time so I hope to get as much done before then as possible as there is no internet in most of the places we intend stopping over.
